Talking about his family, his parents are Jim (Marlene) Zobel of Joliet, and Marcia (Jim) Garrison of Plainfield.

He was survived by his best friend turned wife,  Jayme (Ryan) Zobel. They met each other 33 years ago and married in June 1995.

Zobel was also a proud father to his two sons, Ryan and Luke Zobel. Moreover, he leaves behind a multitude of friends and admirers.

On Saturday, September 4, 2021, he was buried at a Mass of Christian Burial in the Cathedral of St. Raymond.
